ST. MARY'S NURSING HOME
The original St. Mary's Home was situated opposite St. Dominic's Church in Margaret Street and was founded by the Dominican Sisters 140 years ago.
The Home provides accommodation for a wide category of people, the frail, elderly, sick persons and those suffering from physical and terminal illness.
The aim of St. Mary's is to give each person a high degree of care in which they are able to live out their life with dignity and love, respecting the independence and individuality of each person.
The emphasis at St. Mary's is on living and we like to help our residents to remain as independent as is possible. We at St. Mary's are very proud of our long-standing reputation for caring. We provide 24 hour nursing care with fully qualified and dedicated nursing staff. We offer recreational activities and occupational therapy, physiotherapy, hairdressing, chiropody and laundry services are all available to residents, together with the services of a visiting dentist and optician.
The Home comprises of 54 bedrooms, some en-suite facilities; there are three lounges and a large comfortable dining room.
Although the rooms are fully furnished, residents may bring some items of furniture with them if they so wish. Each room is complete with call system and facility for telephone.
In addition to the permanent residents, there are facilities at St. Mary's for short stays, which enables carers to get away on holiday or just have a much-needed break. and complies with Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service Regulations. |
